Strengths and Strategic Pillars
Elica Group can count on important elements of differentiation and this makes it one of the main reference players in Europe
Product innovation, design originality and commercial acumen has driven growth and extended our leadership, as we develop our own brands
Investment in R&D, which accounts for approximately 33% of total Capex, has remained consistent over time - if not in fact increasing.
We have reduced non-strategic and low-growth and margin impact investments, focusing on activities that support innovation, brand growth, commercial growth, and on the research of products with high added value. We have however above all focused on products with ever-greater advanced technology and design content.

The company has undertaken industrial research, seeking to improve products, as well as introducing organisational, process and structural improvements. In addition, Elica has the EPL laboratory, a technology hub which can certify innovative products on safety, energy conservation and compatibility, leveraging a team with extensive technical-scientific expertise (electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, physicists and electrical and chemical experts).
We have executed 26 innovation projects in 2022, 4 of which have already been introduced to the business, reflecting the drive to create distinctive and unique designs.
We have focused on expanding the premium range by extending the Cooking segment range and in June 2022 launched "LHOV”, a revolutionary product that integrates the cooking hob, hood and oven - a significant step in Elica's expansion into the complete Cooking segment. An entirely new product category, compact, powerful, automated and fully expressing the Group's long-standing drive for innovation.
Finally, the Elica Group, through its subsidiary EMC FIME, a leading manufacturer of electric motors, has entered the hydrogen market. The PREMIX** line of fans has in fact been certified internationally for the use of hydrogen following a long process of tests and checks.
Revolutionizing the traditional image of kitchen hoods: no longer simple accessories, but objects with a unique design capable of improving the quality of life
Elica, a leading global manufacturer of range hoods and extractor hobs, has a comprehensive Global Brand portfolio to satisfy all market demands. Each Brand has a clear and distinctive identity, although all follow a common vision.

COOKING BUSINESS UNIT

Elica's range hoods and aspiration hobs are highly functional design and technological content objects, thanks to its extensive experience in the industry, the close focus on design to create unique products and the refinement of the materials and advanced technologies that ensure maximum efficiency and reduced consumption.
A world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of own brand domestic use range hoods and through the brands of leading international manufacturers of household and kitchen appliances, cooking hobs and ovens and sterilisers (for the Asian market only).
Production and sales in the Cooking segment comprise "third-party brands" for 39% of sales and "own brands" for the remaining 61%.

MOTORS BUSINESS UNIT

Leading position in Europe in the design, production and marketing of electric motors for the heating, ventilation and household appliance markets through its subsidiary EMC FIME (formerly FIME - in 2021 FIME extended its presence in the electric motor market through the acquisition of E.M.C. and CPS). The Motors Division produces approximately 17% captive products, meaning they are used in range hoods sold by the Group itself and 83% for external customers.
EMC-FIME: More than 40 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and selling electric motors and fans for the heating, ventilation and household appliance markets. EMC FIME has an ongoing key focus on the welfare of people and the environment.
The Elica Group, through its subsidiary EMC FIME, a leading manufacturer of electric motors, has entered the hydrogen market. The PREMIX line of fans has in fact been certified internationally for the use of hydrogen following a long process of tests and checks.
Proximity and market presence have enabled us to become leaders with our brands
Over the years, the Elica Group has steadily increased its market share to become a truly global player. In fact, it is a market leader in aspiration systems and is gaining leadership positions in the heating and ventilation boiler motors areas.

A global presence is ensured through its 7 Legal Entities located in Europe, the Americas and China.

In Europe, in addition to our Italy-based headquarters, we are present in the most strategic markets such as France, Germany, Spain and Russia. The growth of our market presence with permanent organisations has enabled the Group to achieve market leadership in Europe through its own brands.
A manufacturing and a commercial presence in America has enabled the company to strengthen partnerships with OEM customers, but more importantly to pursue the goal of growing also through its own brands.

Elica Group Distribution Network and presence in Key Countries
Competitiveness and Market drive our industrial footprint
The driver of Elica's production structure is Competitiveness and proximity to the Market.

In Europe, we have two production Hubs for Cooking: Poland for highly-standardised and high-volume products that require competitiveness both for the Proprietary Brands and for the OEM segment, while Italy represents the "flagship" of the “Made in Italy” products, with production dedicated to our winning high-end products, such as the Nikolatesla aspiration hobs and the suspended aspiration solutions.

The Manufacturing Hub in Mexico, on the other hand, serves the North American and Latin American Market and thus ensures proximity to OEM customers and the pursuit of a growth strategy with own brands that has doubled sales over recent years.

The Motors division, on the other hand, divides production between the two plants in Italy and Poland by balancing resources, competitiveness and product development.
Elica's turnaround is now a reality
Elica's turnaround project has now become reality, with both sales and margins growing - supported by a simultaneous improvement in the financial position.
Elica at the end of 2019 launched a clear growth strategy to boost profitability and cash generation by leveraging its product and brand leadership and own brand sales growth.
Improving profitability revolves around 3 key projects: the "Decomplexity" project, i.e. the reduction of product complexity; the "Portfolio" project, which has resulted in a "resizing" of our overheads based on actual business needs, in addition to the project to reallocate industrial production between Italy and Poland, intended to boost our competitiveness.
The group has structurally improved its operating margin from an average of 4% to steadily in excess of 6%, with the Group Net Profit growing 37% from 12M€ to 16.6M€ in 2022.
In 2023, despite a major inflationary impact and a downturn in demand, the Group has confirmed its resilience by maintaining the forecast margins, a solid financial position, and market share growth with its brands. All this has enabled a return to a sustainable dividend policy for the future, also in view of the clear strategy for both organic and acquisition-led growth.

Elica is, by nature, a sustainable company, particularly due to the fact that ours is a product for the purification of the environment
In 2021 we began a process of evaluating and reporting on our corporate social responsibility activities, supported by an internal and inter-departmental committee representative of all the company's stakeholders. With the establishment of the sustainability board, we wish to set out a vision and a medium- to long-term sustainable development plan, which will enable us to develop the initiatives we already have in place and integrate them into a comprehensive project that gives a defined structure to our already, in itself, sustainable approach and makes environmental and social sustainability a winning competitive factor for Elica.
Elica's commitment to the environment translates, first and foremost, into the efficient use of resources, through the reduction of CO2 emissions in production processes and the increased use of renewable energy sources.
The well-being and growth, both personal and professional, of people are among Elica's primary goals. Training is considered a fundamental lever in the development of resources and the entire organisation, and is encouraged through training programmes in partnership with the academic world.
In addition, it is our top priority to ensure an inclusive and merit-based organisational structure. Managerial growth is ensured equally across all organisational levels, with a strong female presence within top management (50% of managers are women).
The Ermanno Casoli Foundation operates additionally to help us foster and strengthen the relationship between art and business, driving collaborative innovation also through projects supporting inclusiveness and creativity.
